A Leelanau State of Mind

What is Leelanau Up North?

Certainly it's a physical place - a most beautiful place in northern Michigan.  But to me - and I hope to you - it is also an inner place.  A state of mind, if you will.

As I've suggested in previous posts, the landscape of Leelanau - the dunes, the water, the forests - inform my thinking.  I'm continually awestruck, inspired and humbled by these works of nature.

So much so that when I'm Up North, I look at life differently.  

Quandaries resolve.  Mundane worries subside.  I can better sense the meaning of life and our place in the world.  The path forward becomes clear.   

It's a Leelanau State of Mind.

In Leelanau ... On Semi-Solid Ground

Pyramid Point Summit Here in Leelanau, ... We walk, and climb, and sit on our dunes. A lot. In so doing, We take for granted the obvious - That there is something at least semi-solid beneath us: A mountain of sand -  Terra Almost Firma. For the most part, it is immoveable, dependable, Supportive of the weight of our bodies ... And our lives. Even during the most difficult times.
