The big guy tried to outrun a pickup truck in Sutton's Bay ....

Ended up with a mechanic's view of the bumper and rear axle.

A Leelanau sheriff's deputy slowly maneuvered the truck back and forth, ...

Freeing Mr. Bear.

Much to the relief of his wife and cubs.

Close encounters with Leelanau wildlife are increasing dramatically, ...

As folks escape corona ravaged cities for the Land of Delight.

The animals of Leelanau were at home here long before we humans.

This bears remembering, ...

Lest we make the home of the Sleeping Bear ...

Unbearable.
